Fall is here, and I'm so happy for the new season. I actually started shopping for the fall/winter season at the end of July. The Nordstrom Anniversary sale gets me EVERY year, but I have to say, Kim Kardashian's Skims gets deep, deep into my pockets.
This year, I decided to up my Skims stash by venturing outside of underwear. For some reason, I've wanted to update my tired and played out "at home" wardrobe. I didn't want to keep looking like my mom and grandma while sitting around the house.
Yea, those muu muus are comfortable but I don't feel cute wearing them. Just because I'm at home doesn't mean I just throw my love of fashion out the window. Skims was the first place I looked because I was already familiar with the brand.
Today, I've compiled my favorite items from Kim Kardashian West's Skims to help you decide if you're ready to join the party.
Loungewear
Like I said earlier, I wanted to give my at home wardrobe a facelift. I love house dresses that feel light and comfy, like oversized T-shirts. But occasionally, I'll rock the shirt and leggings combo.
On most nights, you can catch me in the Sleep Henley Dress. It's like a body con dress that's made for sleeping. The fabric is super soft and screams ultra-luxe.
The only downside is that it wrinkles, but it's not made for outside wear, so that doesn't bother me much.
During my periods, I opt for the Cotton Rib Sets. These are perfect for me, especially when I just feel like covering up. The Cotton Rib Tank and Cotton Rib Legging combo can double as loungewear and "errandwear." You can literally throw on a cardigan if you need to run to the grocery store or pick the kids up from school.
Also, the tank can easily be swapped out with the Cotton Jersey Long Sleeve T-shirt.
More recently, I've ordered the Sleep Short Sleeve Set because I hate wearing any type of pants to bed. I'll report my findings later.
Bras & Underwear
I gotta keep it buck with y'all.
Skims bras are not a good buy. This is based off of my very first Skims purchase. I ordered The Fits Everybody Triangle Bralette and it didn't fit even though it was the right size. I also got the Fits Everybody T-shirt Bra, but the sizing was off as well. I returned them and decided that Skims' bras just weren't for me.
For bras, I would recommend CUUPS.
But this underwear … this Skims underwear is the TRUTH!
I love, Love, LOVE the thongs. When I say it fits like it's barely there, I mean it. I was wearing the Fits Everybody Micro Thong, and I forgot I had it on. I got up to use the bathroom and peed straight through it. Talk about shame!
But I HIGHLY recommend every thong that Skims puts out.
The Cheeky Briefs are my "period panties." They're so soft, and the waistband is perfect for when you're really feeling those cramps. The best part is that you can bundle and get these 3 for $18!
Shapewear
Now, let's talk about this shapewear!
If you're looking for snatched, Skims shapewear is your girl. I've been through too many shapewear brands, and each one comes with its own host of problems. Skims was the first brand I tried, and my only complaint was, "this is a bit snug."
If you didn't have a waist before, this shapewear will create one for you. And it stays in place!!!
I have the Sculpting Mid Waist Brief and the Sculpting Mid Waist Thong for my post-baby belly. Nothing else compares!
Everyday Wear
The everyday items that I actually love are the Cotton Rib Bodysuit and the Cotton Rib Boxers, and they are super easy to style. I wear the bodysuit at least once a week because it layers well with other clothes.
